Am I eligible for a rebate?
You may be able to claim a rebate for the services at the Health+ Diabetes Clinic for certain services.
If you are registered for Medicare, a rebate can be claimed on a portion of the costs of all consultations with Dr Carey. In addition, all of our on-site testing will be bulk billed, with no out of pocket expense with the exception of the resting metabolic rate test.
In general, Allied Health services such as dietetics, exercise physiology and podiatry are not covered by Medicare. Your private health fund may cover these services.
If you have a chronic health condition such as Type 2 diabetes, PCOS or heart disease, you may be eligible for a Team Care Arrangement (TCA). This is organised by your GP to access a Medicare rebate for a number of dietitian, podiatrist or exercise physiologist visits. This arrangement is a recognition of the fact that certain medical conditions require the care of a variety of health professionals for effective treatment. If your GP arranges a TCA for you, you will be able to claim a Medicare rebate of approximately 80% on five Allied Health visits per calendar year.
